With the 2010 Australian Open in the record books it looks like
both Rodger Federer and Serena Williams will have to be
cast as favorite's in the upcoming slams. Even though they walked away
with the winners awards they both were tested. It's going to be an
interesting year. With the likes of Nadal, Djokovic and Murray on the
men's side, and Clijsters, Henin and Venus Williams on the women's side,
the word repeat may not be included in the results.
On the local front we are starting to receive information on all the
season events and they will be posted as we receive them.
I have attached a letter from Lori Hollister, the coach of both
the boys and girls tennis programs at AGHS and suggest you take the time
to read it.
I have also attached a membership form for 2010. Remember that all
members get a 50% discount on our tennis events. For those who play at
night...New light keys are required.
Junior Team Tennis teams are forming through the San Luis Obispo
Country Club - call 805/544-9880 and USTA Junior Team Tennis through
Roberto Hassey - call 805/550-4826. Scott Cleere is forming teams to
participate in both these leagues, call Scott at 431-6758 if you would
like to participate.
Roberto Hassey is holding
both individual and group lessons at various locations throughout SLO
county. He is also running the USTA Junior tennis teams which starts
March 13th. Contact Roberto at 550-4826 for details
SLO Country Club is hosting the Cal Poly's women's tennis team
for their match against San Jose State Friday, February 26th at 1:30.
Tuesday nights are men's workout nights from 5:30 to 7:00 Contact Bill

Scott Cleere is holding both junior and adult tennis clinics.

These clinics and private lessons are held on two different private
courts. One hard court and one clay court.
