APRIL 2009 NEWSLETTER
UPDATE
Arroyo Grande's own Andre
Dome is the first Mustang to be named Big West Freshman of the year
and Big West Athlete twice during the tennis season. Andre was 8-4
before an ankle injury hobbled him for the balance of the season. Cal
Poly's 2010 tennis season looks to be even better with returning
players and talented recruits.
Vandals struck at Soto Park this past week doing damage to both Park
District and Five Cities Tennis property.
Five Cities Tennis is
offering a $100 reward for the arrest and
conviction of the offending party or parties.
On the local front, May 16th and 17th are the dates of
Five Cities
Tennis Association's
Annual Spring Tournament and Bar-B-Que
held at the Soto Park Sports complex. Association members who play in
the tournament receive a 50% discount on their entry fee. The Famous
Fuhrmann's will be doing the grilling and cooking for our Saturday, the
16th Bar-B-Que that is included in your entry fee. We always appreciate
any side dishes you bring to share. As usual we have to limit the amount
of entries per class, so get your entry in early to get a guaranteed
spot. Entries are already coming in. Deadline is Monday May 11th.
For those of you that want to play in the tournament and do not have a
partner, send in your entry blank and we will try to match you up.
A special thanks to Tennis Warehouse for their continuing
sponsorship of our awards program. Check Tennis Warehouse's web
